Join the UCMUN Staff!

 

If you want to learn more about the world of Model UN or are just curious about what the club entails, we’d love to have you! Each semester, we’re looking for new students to join regardless of your grade, major, or experience in MUN. Even you’re a total beginner, we’ll teach you everything you need to know and by conference weekend, you’ll feel like a pro. All undergraduate students enrolled at any campus of the University of Connecticut are allowed to join.

Things to note:
- Weekly meetings are Thursdays 6:30-7:45. In person and remote options are available for meetings.
- The conference is from November 8-10 at UConn Storrs. You must be available in person for all three days.

Available Positions

- Assistant Director (AD): Assistant Directors are paired with a Director and they assist in the debate and the running of each committee. Jobs include keeping track of the speakers list and keeping track of time. They also will be assisting Directors in researching for their committee topics, giving each AD valuable research experience that can be applied to future roles on campus and in the workplace.

- Assistant Crisis Coordinator (Crisis): These few members assist the Crisis Coordinator in planning and executing the crisis situation for several committees during the conference. Crisis situations have ranged from disease breakouts to surprise drone hacking.

- Security Staff: These members help maintain the overall security and order of the conference. Under the guidance of the Directors of Security, security staff account for all members of the conference, usher events, and help coordinate voting procedure in committee.

- Media Staff: Media Staff under the guidance of the Social Media Coordinator cover all the events and happenings of the conference and put together the annual press release at the end of the conference. In addition, they are in charge of photography and other media at the conference.
